Atlantean Outposts

Atlantean outposts are ancient ruins, armories, workshops, and training sites that preserve high magical technology from a lost civilization. They connect Aetherstone, flying craft, planar barriers, enchanted weapons, and specialized relics recovered by several parties.

The clearest explored outpost is the ruin beneath the tree on one of the fictional Aetherstone Islands northeast of Iceland. Its halls included Atlantean arches, tile murals, Atlantean Guardian Constructs, armory rooms, and training areas. Recovered or assigned relics included the Orb of Crafting, Infernal Orb, flame-tongue spear, Aetherstone Darts, Explosive Darts, and the Ram Wraps.

Caleb Gandalfson's Hjaltland material also points to tunnels under a barrow that led toward an Atlantean outpost, where he found the Atlantean Arcanist's Guide to Wandcraft, an Atlantean technical book he has begun translating into Common. The same barrow adventure involved a Draugr Stone, an ogre zombie, and other zombies. Later canon links Aetherstone and Atlantean technology to the floating shield wall and future flying-craft hooks.
