Hjaltland

Hjaltland is the Norse name used in the campaign for the Shetland Islands. It is a northern island destination reached by sea from Niðaróss. Records use it as a frontier location for settlers, undead danger, a rescued badger family, and access to deeper Atlantean ruins.

• First known appearance: Shetland-name source thread and Caleb poster/backstory material.

• Caleb Gandalfson helped settlers in Hjaltland and fought undead threats there, including zombies and an ogre zombie connected to a barrow and a Draugr Stone.
• Before Fires at the Fjordgate, Skrappe Frappe participated in the Hjaltland adventure. The party rescued a family of badgers from goblins, and Caleb's Wand of Wonder permanently enlarged the badger now known as Bitey Boy Brock. That rescue is how Brock met Skrappe.
• Beneath or near the barrow, adventurers found a tunnel leading toward an Atlantean outpost.
• Adventurers found and befriended Terrible Terrors, tiny flame-breathing dragons living in Hjaltland.
• Separate northern expedition records also describe the fictional Aetherstone Islands northeast of Iceland. Those islands are distinct from Hjaltland.
