Niðaróss

Niðaróss is one of the most important towns in the campaign world and the main settlement connected to the Fjordgate defense. It sits on the fjord and serves as the last major town before the sea for refugees and defenders fleeing the horde from inland settlements. In Fires at the Fjordgate, the town includes a central square with a speaking stone, longhouses, docks, a forgeyard, an eastern palisade, a northern wall, and newly built longhouses outside the wall for refugees. Those outer buildings were used as bait and traps during the battle.

Campaign History

Refugees from Þýdal, Gressli, Mebonden, Hjaltland, and other threatened places gathered in Niðaróss before the battle.
After The Night Þýdal Fell, Þýdal refugees arriving by longboat were greeted by Anidori and other young folk who had helped raise defenders; many longhouses showed red cloth near the door to mark welcome for strangers needing temporary shelter.
Ásgeirr Axelson called a Thing in the square and rallied the population to defend the town as a shieldwall.
Niðaróss survived repeated attacks by goblins, orcs, giants, siege beasts, and war machines during Fires at the Fjordgate.
After the battle, the town became a rebuilding center, a trade hub, and the planned site of a public wizard's tower led by Fróð Erikson and Isar Geirson.
Later expeditions after Fires at the Fjordgate began in or near Niðaróss a few months after the battle, including caravan work toward Selbu.
