The Amber Tower
Party
After Amelia's warning, Þýdal searched for anything that might help the village survive. Smiths worked fallen star-metal into weapons, scouts watched the roads, and old stories gained sudden importance. When Alwin Silverthorn remembered tales of a secluded wizard's tower, a party from Þýdal went looking for it.
They found Fróð Erikson's Tower hidden in an overgrown valley, concealed by permanent illusions and long absence. The tower seemed abandoned, but it had not been empty. A giant spider had entered through a small opening and grown too large to escape, while her children still slipped in and out through the same hole. Instead of turning the trapped creature into an enemy, Sanura Sefu took on a spider's shape and opened the way to peace. The party freed the spider family by opening the tower door wide enough for them to leave.
Higher in the tower, the party found a strange amber storage vessel: the Amber Barrel. When they spoke the word that emptied it, Fróð Erikson himself fell out. The wizard had been trapped inside for roughly three hundred years after an experiment went wrong. Time had passed over the world, but not over him.
Grateful for rescue, Fróð gave the adventurers amber pouches of their own. More importantly, he returned to the world before the horde reached Þýdal. The hidden tower did not hold an army, but it gave the village a wizard, a hoard of strange magic, and one more reason to believe the coming fight might not be hopeless.
