Aetherstone Dart

Aetherstone Dart

The Aetherstone Dart is a rare +1 homebrew magic dart with a faintly shimmering Aetherstone embedded in its shaft. Earlier campaign pages refer to these generally as gravity darts.

  • Category: Magic weapon / Aetherstone item.

This dart has a small, faintly shimmering stone embedded in its shaft.

The wielder has a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. When it hits a target, that target levitates 5 feet for one minute.

If a creature is levitated, movement that depends on touching the ground, such as walking, is reduced to zero.

Proficiency with a dart allows the wielder to add their proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack made with it.

In this campaign's homebrew dart ruling, ordinary darts have a range of 40/160; see Campaign Weapon Rulings for the campaign-wide range rule and Dart Mastery for broader dart viability and crafting rules.

The Aetherstone Dart has the Vex mastery property. To use this property, the wielder must have a feature that allows weapon mastery properties.

Vex: if the wielder hits a creature with this weapon and deals damage to it, the wielder has advantage on their next attack roll against that creature before the end of their next turn.

Notes: magic bonus, damage, combat, finesse, thrown, Vex.

Assigned item / played discovery. The Aetherstone Islands Atlantean armory contained enchanted darts, and Thordak Faerdhal received Explosive Darts and Aetherstone Darts.
