This is an old revision of the document!

Orkanger sits on the coast where the river Ork meets the Orkdal Fjord, which is an arm of the Þróndheimsfjorden. The name basically means “the inlet of the river Ork”. The river Ork is known for it's abundant life, including salmon. Giant Squids are common in the fjord.

Orkanger is the largest town in the Orkdalen valley. Orkdalen is the valley through which the river Ork runs. It starts at the Orkvatn (Ork Lake) where the river valley is steep with rugged cliffs, but it gradually becomes wider, shallower, and more fertile as it approaches the fjord.

People

The sea elves that live there have a coat of arms they use to indicate loyalty to the town, which is “Vert, a pallet wavy argent”. This means the arms have a green field (background) and the charge is a vertical wavy bar. The wavy bar has a tincture of argent which means it is commonly colored white, but if it is made out of metal, then silver is used. The design was chosen to symbolize the river Ork (the wavy argent bar) which runs through fertile Orkdalen valley (the green field).

Elara Seabreeze is a respected jarl known for her wisdom and mastery of water magic. She is a key leader in maintaining the peace between the sea elves and humans.

Nerith Deepcurrent is an enigmatic sea elf druid who tends to the sacred swamp and possesses knowledge of ancient sea lore and lost artifacts.

Sigrid Wavecaller is a young, adventurous sea elf bard who often tells tales of underwater kingdoms and leads expeditions to explore the fjord's depths.

Thorkell Stormr is a human jarl highly respected by both the humans and elves of Orkanger. He values the alliance with the sea elves and works to ensure harmony between the two races.

Features

The homes and other buildings are a mix of Viking longhouses and sea elf structures, with flowing, wave-like designs and intricate carvings of marine life.

The Great Hall of Tides is a central meeting place where both sea elves and humans gather for celebrations, councils, and trade.

The Sacred Swamp is located just south of the town and is revered by the sea elves as a holy place. Elves often go there to meditate and commune with nature. There are many tales of the area having magical properties, but the stories are all vague and conflicting.

The coast has a small harbor with four piers that make loading and unloading of longships fast and efficient. The sea elf sorcerers have cast protective wards so that dangerous sea creatures and poor weather are less likely to affect boat operations.

Near the harbor and its piers is a small marketplace where traders and local artisans sell their goods.
