Quiver of Cliff Winds
Awarded to Leif Arrowsong for the adventures of Hallowing the Hearthforge.
Description and Rules
Wondrous item (requires attunement by a ranger)
This leather quiver is stamped with dwarven runes. Arrows placed inside acquire small sighting- and fletching-runes. These remain until the arrow's attack is resolved or it has been outside the quiver for more than 1 minute.
Tunnel Flight. Your attacks with these runed arrows ignore half cover provided by stonework, rubble, or cave formations. They treat three-quarters cover from those obstacles, including stone arrow slits, as half cover. Total cover is unaffected.
Runic Guidance. When you hit a creature affected by your Hunter's Mark with a runed arrow, you can cause it to glow with dwarven runic light, requiring no additional action. The glow lasts until the start of your next turn, ending early if that creature is no longer affected by your Hunter's Mark.
While the glow lasts, each ally other than you who can see it gains these benefits:
- A bonus equal to your proficiency bonus to their first attack roll against the glowing creature.
- An extra 1d6 Force damage the first time they hit that creature with an attack.
These benefits apply to weapon and spell attacks. Further hits from your runed arrows do not stack the effect or renew an ally's expended benefits before the start of your next turn.
Leif's current proficiency bonus is +2. The attack bonus applies to an ally's first attack even if it misses; the extra damage remains available for that ally's first hit during the same glow. Each ally tracks these two benefits separately. There are no charges or daily uses to spend.
