Melody Marigold

Melody Marigold

As a young child Melody liked to sing with the birds in the forest near where her family lived. She was especially fond of the bluebirds and cardinals; their bright colors and cheerful voices always made her happy. She would often explore the area to try to learn new songs, flitting around while her bird friends dived and swooped around her playfully. One day she was wandering about when she noticed that the birds weren’t singing. She was pondering that when she spotted a wolf sneaking up on a bunny rabbit. Reacting without thinking first, she shouted out angrily “Bad doggie!” and then sang out “Run like the wind, bunny!”. Instantly she saw the wolf drop to the ground writhing in pain while the rabbit jumped up and ran away faster than she’d ever seen one run before. She noticed the rabbits’ feet were glowing and she thought “Did I do that?”.
