| Orkanger is the largest town in the Orkdalen valley. Orkdalen is the valley through which the river Ork runs. It starts at the Orkvatn (Ork Lake) where the river valley is steep with rugged cliffs, but it gradually becomes wider, shallower, and more fertile as it approaches the fjord. | Orkanger is a coastal town made up mostly of sea elves and humans. It sits near the water and works well as a place for ships, sea trade, fishing families, and characters with ties to both land and sea. |

| The elves that live there have a coat of arms they use to indicate loyalty to the town, which is "Vert, a pallet wavy argent". This means the arms have a green field (background) and the charge is a vertical wavy bar. The wavy bar has a tincture of argent which means it is commonly colored white, but if it is made out of metal, then silver is used. The design was chosen to symbolize the river Ork (the wavy argent bar) which runs through fertile Orkdalen valley (the green field). | |
