Foxes
Clever small predators of field, shore, and forest edge, useful as omens of stealth, theft, and hidden trails.
In the North
Foxes are excellent for settled wilderness: they raid henhouses, follow camps, and survive where humans create scraps. Arctic foxes belong farther north and can make cold-region travel feel distinct.
Myth and Folklore
Foxes are not major named Norse myth figures, but Scandinavian folklore later gives them a reputation for cleverness and uncanny survival. In the campaign they work well as trickster-adjacent animals without importing a full trickster god role.
Campaign Use
Use foxes as mundane scouts, familiar options, fey-touched guides, or signs that a camp is leaving too much food exposed.
