Rascal (Norse)

Rascal (Norse) is a homebrew background for a mischievous, quick-footed character who grew up sneaking, climbing, listening, and slipping away from trouble.

  • Category: Homebrew background / Norse character option.

You were the kid who stole pies cooling on windowsills. You snuck around your village eavesdropping on local gossip, learned which adults noticed too much, and found every gap in a fence, wall, or crowded hall.

When people chased you, you usually got away. Maybe you squirmed through tight spaces, scrambled over roofs, climbed trees, vanished among market crowds, or swung through ship rigging before anyone could grab you. Those habits made you useful long before anyone called you an adventurer.

  • Skill Proficiencies: Stealth, Insight.
  • Tool Proficiencies: one type of gaming set, thieves' tools.
  • Equipment: a set of dark common clothes including a hood.

Rascal (Norse): Parkour

Longhouse beams and ship rigging are your playground.

You have advantage on Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks made to climb, leap, or balance on structures common to Norse settlements, such as ships, palisades, or rooftops.

When you move through a crowded market or shipyard, difficult terrain caused by other creatures costs you no extra movement.

Homebrew Norse background for player characters. Several structured character sheets use the Rascal (Norse) background.
