Ravens
Sacred, clever carrion birds tied to Odin, battlefields, memory, news, and the boundary between omen and scavenger.
In the North
Ravens fit almost every part of a Norse campaign: farms, cliffs, battlefields, gallows, ships, and wilderness camps. They are intelligent enough to feel like witnesses.
Myth and Folklore
Odin’s ravens Huginn and Muninn, usually translated as Thought and Memory, fly through the world and bring him news. That makes ravens one of the strongest mythic animals in the setting.
Campaign Use
Use ravens as battlefield omens, witnesses, familiars, spirit messengers, or a sign that someone powerful is paying attention.
