Owls
Night hunters that bring silence, watchfulness, hidden wisdom, and unease to forests, barns, and grave mounds.
In the North
Owls are excellent nocturnal atmosphere. Their calls mark watches in camp, and their silence can make a familiar place feel wrong.
Myth and Folklore
Owls are not as dominant in Norse myth as ravens, but they carry broad northern associations with night sight and hidden knowledge. Use them carefully so they do not displace Odin’s raven symbolism.
Campaign Use
Use owls as familiars, omen-birds for seers, or the visible sign of a predator or spirit moving at night.
