A later Scandinavian sea-monster name that works well for enormous tentacled horror, deep-water fear, and sailor rumor.

Kraken is more early modern than Viking Age, but it fits the campaign if treated as a sailor’s broad name for deep-sea monstrosities rather than a precise mythological category.
