They are not mythic monsters by default, but their burrows make useful entrances, signs, and hazards around graves or hidden stores. ===== Myth and Folklore ===== The badger is not a major named creature in surviving Norse myth, which makes it useful as a grounded animal rather than a symbol-heavy one. In saga-like play, a badger’s stubbornness and sudden violence can still make it feel larger than its size. ===== Campaign Use ===== Use badgers as warning signs near disturbed earth, as animals driven strange by corruption, or as the mundane explanation for noises that first seem supernatural. ===== See Also ===== * [[:creatures|Norse Creatures]] ===== Sources ===== * Wildlife of Norway: https://grokipedia.com/page/Wildlife_of_Norway ===== Game Master Notes ===== DM-only encounter details, stat blocks, and running notes are kept at [[dm:creatures:badgers|Badgers (DM)]]. creatures/badgers.txt Last modified: 2026/07/04 00:38by Seraphina
