====== Orkneyjar ======

Orkneyjar is the Old Norse name for the Orkney Islands. For a Viking-age campaign, it is a natural stop between [[campaigns:latitude_history:places:hjaltland|Hjaltland]], [[campaigns:latitude_history:places:skotland|Skotland]], [[campaigns:latitude_history:places:island|Ísland]], and the western sea routes.

The islands can serve as a place of jarls, sea-kings, winter harbors, religious tension, ship repair, feasting halls, local feuds, and rumors carried between Norway and the western islands.
