Sling of Chance
The Sling of Chance is Shenanigan Swift's very rare magical sling. It can fire coins as magical ammunition, turning each shot into a gamble where the coin's value increases both the shimmer and the risk.

Details
This sling has threads of copper, silver, and gold woven into its cords and leather pocket. When it is used to hurl a coin, the coin glows briefly in mid-air and bursts into glittering sparks on impact, leaving behind only a faint metallic scent.
The Sling of Chance can be used to make ranged attacks with coins instead of stones or bullets. The coin is consumed in the shot and cannot be recovered. Attacks made with this sling are magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks.
Current Stonehome reward planning pairs the sling with a magical coin-selecting belt pouch for Shenanigan Swift. The pouch would let her store coins safely and draw exactly the coin type she wants, making copper, silver, and gold Sling of Chance shots easier to choose quickly during play.
When attacking with a coin, roll the attack and damage together:
- Choose the coin's value and roll 1d20 plus the coin dice:
- Copper: 2d4
- Silver: 3d4
- Gold: 4d4
- For each 1 rolled on the d4s, add +1 to the attack roll.
- Add up all remaining d4 results, meaning results of 2-4, to determine damage.
- Apply Dexterity and proficiency bonuses as normal.
The more precious the coin, the greater the shimmer and the greater the risk. Each shot is a gamble of fortune's favor.
Proficiency with a sling allows the wielder to add their proficiency bonus to attack rolls made with it.
The Sling of Chance has the Slow mastery property. If the wielder has a feature that lets them use weapon mastery properties, then when they hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, they can reduce its speed by 10 feet until the start of their next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the speed reduction does not exceed 10 feet.
Notes: damage, combat, ammunition, range, Slow.
