At a Glance
- Category: Homebrew background / Norse character option.
Details
You have apprenticed under a master crafter for years. You might be ready to start your own business, or you might not. In either case, you have been able to avoid the lifetime of drudgery you associate with farming that most people have to put up with.
- Skill Proficiencies: your knowledge of your particular craft has taught you either History or Investigation. Your continual attempts to improve your work gave you either Perception or Sleight of Hand.
- Tool Proficiencies: you know the specific tool of your trade, which is an artisan's tool.
- Languages: your dealings with others, either other crafters or traveling merchants, have taught you either one language or one additional artisan's tool.
- Equipment: you start with one set of artisan's tools, as long as their cost is 50 gp or less.
Feature: Trademaster
You read markets like sagas.
- You can quickly appraise the worth of common goods, gaining advantage on Intelligence (Investigation) checks to set fair prices or detect a swindle in Norse ports and fairs.
- When you spend a day in a settlement of at least a hundred souls, you can find a buyer for mundane trade goods at a fair price.
