It rests in a protected chest socket where a human's heart and lungs would lie. Fine dwarven runes pulse steadily under stress. **Personal Stability Engine.** The Hearthforge dwarves recognize echoes of Netheril's work and MechaKirby's floating shield wall, then turn that insight inward to steady and protect MechaKirby himself. **Integration.** Installing or removing the core takes 1 hour, which can coincide with a rest. Its magical benefits require it to be installed and attuned. It is not armor and does not replace Integrated Protection. **Aegis Lattice.** You gain +2 to Armor Class. This stacks with Integrated Protection and works with or without armor or a shield. **Arcane Focus +1.** The core serves as an arcane focus. Touch it with a free hand to use it as your focus; normal component requirements still apply. You gain +1 to spell attack rolls made through it, with no bonus to damage or spell save DCs. **Stabilizing Pulse.** The core has 3 charges. When you would take damage, you can use your Reaction and expend 1 charge to reduce that instance of damage by 1d8 + your Intelligence modifier, to a minimum of 0 damage. Resolve any Arcane Ward absorption first; the pulse reduces only damage that would reach you. Apply the reduction after your resistance or vulnerability and before losing temporary HP or HP. It affects only you, covers any damage type, and lasts only for that instance of damage. Excess reduction is lost; it does not heal or grant temporary HP. This uses the same Reaction you might otherwise spend on a spell or another feature. **Dawn Recharge.** The core regains all 3 expended charges at dawn. A Short or Long Rest alone does not recharge it. ===== Related Pages ===== * [[campaigns:latitude_history:characters:mechakirby|MechaKirby]] * [[campaigns:latitude_history:lore:hearthforge-rewards|Hallowing the Hearthforge rewards]] * [[campaigns:latitude_history:places:hearthforge|Hearthforge]] campaigns/latitude_history/lore/aegis-rune-core.txt Last modified: 2026/09/06 19:06by Seraphina
