Starspike

Starspike

Starspike is Sanura Sefu's Meteorstrike Spear, +1: an uncommon magic spear that requires attunement and can unleash fire, lightning, or frost strikes. It was forged during Þýdal's emergency battle preparations from metal recovered from the same Þýdal-area meteor that supplied the metal for Thordak Faerdhal's Asteroid-Forged Warhammer.

Details

This long spear is made from a shimmering, silver-colored metal that glows with a faint, otherworldly light. It is highly durable and sharp, able to cut through almost any material with ease.

The metal came from the fallen sky-stone northeast of Þýdal, the same meteor whose recovered metal was used for Thordak Faerdhal's Asteroid-Forged Warhammer. The first recovery happened after Amelia warned Þýdal of the horde and the village sent a group north to see whether fallen-star metal could help them prepare.

Starspike has a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls. It is immune to all nonmagical damage.

The attuned wielder can use an action to unleash one of the spear's elemental attacks. Each elemental strike can be used once per long rest:

Proficiency with a spear allows the wielder to add their proficiency bonus to attack rolls made with it.

This weapon has the Sap mastery property. If the wielder has a feature that lets them use weapon mastery properties, then when they hit a creature with this spear, that creature has disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of the wielder's next turn.

Notes: bonus, magic, damage, combat, thrown, versatile, Sap.

At the Battle of Niðaróss, Sanura used Starspike to face a giant in the central square. The spear displayed elemental force, including lightning, flame, and frost, before Sanura drove it into the giant's heart.
