The Explosive Dart is a rare +1 homebrew magic dart with a red crystal tip that glows faintly. It was one of the enchanted dart types recovered from the Aetherstone Islands Atlantean armory.
This dart has a red crystal tip that glows faintly.
The wielder has a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. When it hits, it explodes. All creatures within 10 feet must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw or take 2d6 fire damage, taking half as much on a successful save.
Proficiency with a dart allows the wielder to add their proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack made with it.
In this campaign's homebrew dart ruling, ordinary darts have a range of 40/160; see Campaign Weapon Rulings for the campaign-wide range rule and Dart Mastery for broader dart viability and crafting rules.
The Explosive Dart has the Vex mastery property. To use this property, the wielder must have a feature that allows weapon mastery properties.
Vex: if the wielder hits a creature with this weapon and deals damage to it, the wielder has advantage on their next attack roll against that creature before the end of their next turn.
Notes: magic bonus, damage, combat, finesse, thrown, Vex.
