====== Thrall ======

A thrall is an enslaved person. Thralls did hard labor, served households, and lacked the legal freedom and protection enjoyed by free people.

This subject should be handled plainly. Enslavement existed in the historical world that inspires the setting, but it should not be romanticized. In student-facing play, thralls can be included to show injustice, social hierarchy, danger, and moral choices rather than as background decoration.

  * A vulnerable witness who knows what powerful people overlook.
  * A person who needs protection, ransom, or a path to freedom.
  * Evidence that a wealthy household's honor is more complicated than its public face.
  * A reason for heroes to choose mercy and justice over convenience.

===== Table Guidance =====

Keep the focus on human dignity. Do not use thralls for jokes, cruelty spectacle, or casual reward economies.
