A sleek brown otter with a pale throat, short legs, whiskered muzzle, and a strong swimming tail. It slips between river stones, fishes in the shallows, and watches the bank with bright, curious eyes.

Otters bring life to rivers, lakes, and sheltered shores. A ripple beneath a dock, wet tracks across a landing, or a fish carried into the reeds can announce one before it is seen.
