Pippa Sparkwhisker grew up beside a busy fishing landing. She learned to tie knots, count the boats, and climb a mast without treading on anyone's fingers. Her magic first appeared while she was mending a torn net: a tiny spark jumped from her whiskers and the broken cord began to join itself.
