Grimnar Ironvein is an old dwarf connected to the halls later called [[campaigns:latitude_history:places:hearthforge|Hearthforge]]. He and his people were driven from their mountain halls when the goblin, orc, and giant horde surged out and occupied the area.

  * He asked the heroes to scout the dwarven halls and determine whether they could be reclaimed.
  * He promised the party riches and magic if they succeeded.
  * He stayed in [[campaigns:latitude_history:places:nidaross|Niðaróss]] rather than traveling with the party. Earlier planning suggested he might accompany them, but that was not incorporated into the played action.
